Philip Blackmore is State Priority Weeds Coordinator with NSW DPI based in Armidale. He was educated at Hawkesbury Agricultural College and Charles Sturt University. He has been involved with policy and legislation for public weed management for more than 25 years. He initiated the NSW legal training for weeds inspectors’ program and has been closely involved with supporting weeds inspectors’ implementation of the Noxious Weeds Act and now the Biosecurity Act. Philip has overseen the NSW Parthenium weed program as convenor of the NSW Parthenium Taskforce. Philip has also had considerable input to other state and national weed management programs.
