Weed Biocontrol agent mass rearing and implementation in NSW | Fritz Heystek
Biography
Fritz Heystek is a research officer with the Weed Research Unit (Invasive Species Biosecurity, Biosecurity and Food Safety) of the NSW Department of Primary Industries. Fritz joined the WRU in 2022. Prior to joining the WRU, Fritz conducted research into the biological control of Lantana (Lantana camara), Crofton weed (Ageratina adenophora) and Mesquite (Neltuma species) at the Weeds Division of The Plant Health and Protection Institute of the Agricultural Research Council in South Africa. This research focussed on native range surveys, host-range testing, field release, monitoring and impact assessment of biocontrol agents.
