Xiaocheng is a research officer with a passion for identifying economically important species quickly. He has a broad range of experience in different fields, including invasive plants, insects, and parasites. Before joining the Department in 2020, Xiaocheng spent ten years as a research fellow at Charles Strut University. During this time, he completed a range of research projects, focusing on invasive weeds such as silverleaf nightshade, Paterson's curse, and noogoora burr. Xiaocheng's research involves using advanced techniques such as Sanger sequencing and Next Generation Sequencing for molecular systematics, population genetics, functional genetics, and biodiversity profiling.
