Synopsis

This presentation highlights how RESTORE Intensive Family Services (IFS) adapted the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Families (TCI-F) model to support birth families dealing with adolescent violence. Initially developed for foster care, TCI-F was embedded into RESTORE’s practice through practitioner training, in-home family sessions, and the integration of trauma-responsive, culturally inclusive approaches. A case study and client feedback will demonstrate how TCI-F improved family safety, strengthened parental capacity, and reduced conflict. The presentation will show how TCI-F, when tailored to family needs, is an effective intervention for promoting wellbeing and keeping families together.
