Biography

Tom Allsop is the Chief Executive Officer of PeakCare, Queensland’s peak body for child and family services. Tom is a social worker, sessional academic and has led the design and implementation of nationally significant programs and projects for both the government and non-government sector. Tom’s expertise includes the intersection of child protection with related service systems including youth justice, early childhood education and care, disability, mental health and youth homelessness.

Biography

Deb Tsorbaris is CEO of the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare, Victoria’s peak body for child and family services. With over 35 years’ experience across government and non-profit sectors, Deb has led work in youth, disability, homelessness, and family support. A respected policy leader, she advises state and federal governments and fosters collaboration across sectors. Deb received the 2022 Robin Clark Leadership Award and serves as Board Chair of Families Australia and a board member of the Brian M Davis Charitable Trust.

Biography

Melissa Gibson has dedicated her career to supporting vulnerable children, families, and communities. Beginning as a child and family psychologist, she progressed to leadership roles in sexual assault, child protection, and family violence services, as well as senior policy roles in NSW Health and other government sectors. She has also held key positions in the non-government sector, most recently as Director of Policy and Programs at the Western Sydney Primary Health Network. Melissa is a recognised leader in innovation and reform, committed to driving positive change through collaboration.

Biography

Simone Czech is CEO of the Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies (ACWA), the NSW peak body for non-government services supporting vulnerable children and families. With over 25 years’ experience in child protection and social services, including as Deputy Secretary at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, Simone brings extensive leadership in out-of-home care, policy, and reform. She holds degrees in Psychology and Public Administration and is dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people.
