This session will provide an introduction to drug use evaluation and clinical audits. Pharmacists will learn the process of undertaking a drug use evaluation, how to use the results of drug use evaluation/clinical audits to improve patient care, and resources available to support pharmacists undertaking these activities. Learning objectives • Identify the goals of drug use evaluation and clinical audits • Describe the process for undertaking drug use evaluation and clinical audits • Discuss the role of the pharmacist in undertaking drug audits and evaluations to optimise patient care. Competency standards • 2016: 1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.3.2, 2.2.2, 3.5.1, 5.3.4. • 2010: 1.1.2, 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 2.3.1, 7.3.1, 7.3.2, 7.3.3.
