Details

The efficient and cost-effective access to medicine is essential to ensure positive health outcomes for patients. With this in mind, how can we ensure the continual improvement of the supply of medicines in Australia to meet the increasing demands on the healthcare system and PBS? This session will explore potential future initiatives and changes the current policy to improve access to medicines. Learning objectives: • Discuss the advantages and challenges of the current National Medicines Policy with regard to access to medicines for patients • Identify potential improvements or changes to the policy to ensure future healthcare needs can continue to be met Competency Standards: • 2016: 2.3.1, 2.3.2 • 2010: 2.1.3
