With the up-scheduling of codeine to prescription-only, pharmacists must re-think approaches to pain management. The utility of NSAIDs in the pain managing paradigm is well-established, with a range of NSAIDs available over-the-counter, each with varying safety profiles, efficacy and appropriateness based on the patient’s characteristics and current disease states.
