Biography

Anita Sundari Akella is Director for Impact at Scale at CARE USA, responsible for ensuring that CARE programs are designed for scale from the start, validating potential pathways to scale, and advising teams across CARE on realizing their potential for scale. Anita is a development and natural resource economist whose work has traversed the fields of conservation, livelihoods, business design and social enterprise. Anita holds an M.S. in Natural Resource Economics and M.A. in International Development Economics from Yale University, and an M.B.A. from Duke University.

Biography

Meg Battle is the Director, Strategic Initiatives at IDinsight. In this role, she oversees a portfolio of global projects, including a partnership with CARE's Impact at Scale team. She previously served as IDinsight's Southeast Asia Regional Director. Her recent engagements include projects with the Philippines Department of Health, National Economic Development Authority, UNICEF, and UNDP. Previously, Meg spent six years leading public health organizations in Cambodia, in child protection and women’s health. Meg has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and International Studies from Boston College and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Biography

Alice Redfern is a Senior Manager at IDinsight, managing two partnerships with the Philippine Department of Health: first, designing and conducting a five-year National Health Promotion and Literacy Study; second, supporting the DOH with an overall measurement strategy, including the design and implementation of an annual household survey, for the country’s first universal healthcare policy. She is a clinically trained doctor, with over 5 years experience in academic public health research and consultancy project management in the development sector. Alice holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and a bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences, both from Oxford University.
