Abstract

Biography

Cheryl Seah is a developmental psychologist and a researcher with expertise in the area of child development, childhood disorders, mental health, early intervention for children and families and implementation science. She has extensive knowledge and experience coordinating, supporting family-centred program design, as well as the implementation and management of large-scale evaluation projects. She has more than 20 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of children with developmental conditions in the clinical and community settings. She is passionate about inclusive practices within preschools and supports early childhood educators through training and evaluation projects. She is part of the implementation and intervention design team at the Centre for Holistic Initiatives for Learning and Development (CHILD) and facilitates training for clinicians on Implementation Science at the Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Biography

Evelyn Tan, PhD, is trained as a psychologist and has done extensive research in the area of child development, mental health and parenting. She has over 10 years’ experience working with vulnerable families and in research in the field of developmental psychology. Evelyn has a strong interest in the impact of parenting and early childhood care and education on later child development, as well as translation of such research into service delivery for prevention and intervention. She has led the coordination of evidence synthesis projects and worked closely with community stakeholders and government agencies to translate evidence into practice and policy and evaluate interventions. Beyond these roles, Evelyn has extensive experience in assessing infant and preschool attachment and is familiar with psychological assessments and providing psychotherapy to at-risk families across both public and private sectors.
