Biography

Sara is the co-founder of I2S and its Next Generation Engagement Program and services as the Head of the Policy and Governance Program within the ANU Crawford School of Public Policy. Sara’s research focuses on the intersection of corporations, communities and governments as they negotiate impacts of major projects with an aim to mitigate environmental and social risks and to optimise potential benefits. She is the Past President of the International Association for Impact Assessment - the world’s leading organisation for impact assessment practitioners, representing 7000 members in 120 countries.

Abstract

Biography

Dr Jones is the Engagement and Impact lead for the Institute for Infrastructure in Society, Australia’s largest study of community engagement in infrastructure. Her work focuses on the development of the Infrastructure Engagement Excellence (IEE) Standards, a global first in guiding best-practice engagement in the infrastructure sector. Dr Jones’ offers world-leading expertise in knowledge translation, including research design to support research policy and practice impact, and experience training research leaders to integrate knowledge translation into their research projects. Her career is devoted to supporting non-profit and research organisations to improve stakeholder engagement with research to enhance societal and policy impacts.
