What is done in the real world? Implementation of self-collection cervical screening in primary care

Abstract

Biography

Nicola is an early career researcher whose work in implementation science focusses on increasing equity and participation in Australia's national cancer screening programs. Nicola’s PhD, supported by an NHMRC scholarship, aims to optimise and evaluate recent policy changes allowing universal access to self-collection for cervical screening - a policy that has great potential to increase equity in Australia. Nicola is also a part of a range of other projects, including evaluating initiatives to increase participation in the bowel, breast and cervical screening programs, and more recently, involved in early scoping work to inform the design of lung cancer screening.
