Shamal joined the Philanthropic Services team in November 2012 and has led the team since November 2014. In addition to leading the team, his responsibilities include the provision of specialist strategic advice to for-purpose organisations and private clients in areas ranging from the structuring, governance, capacity building, sustainability and organisational strategy. Prior to joining JBWere, Shamal worked within the financial services and trustee industries gaining significant experience in advising high net worth individuals on their philanthropic structures, managing trusts and foundations (including PAFs), and constructing charitable foundation investment portfolios. Shamal serves as a Non-Executive Director of Earthwatch Australia and Two Good Foundation, and serves on multiple committees including the Advisory Committee for the Centre for Social Impact, and Investment Committee of the JBWere Charitable Endowment Fund. Shamal’s research and writing focuses on the development on frameworks that enable all participants in the social outcomes ecosystem (for-purpose organisations, philanthropists and corporates) to deliver greater impact.

Caroline Fiennes is one of the few people whose work has appeared in both OK! Magazine and the scientific journal Nature. She founded and directs Giving Evidence, which works to enable charitable giving to be based on sound evidence. A physicist by background, she was an award-winning charity CEO herself, and has advised major donors and foundation in many continents on many issues over many years: they include Eurostar, the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts, professional tennis players, and foundations set up by governments in the UK, US and the Gulf. Caroline has taught at Oxford, Cambridge and Yale, and is described by Nobel Prize winner Richard Thaler as “charmingly disruptive”. She writes the ‘How to Give It’ column in the Financial Times Weekend.

Robyn Mildon PhD is the founding executive director of the Centre for Evidence and Implementation (CEI). Robyn is an internationally recognised leader with a long standing career focused on the implementation, mainstreaming, and scaling-up of evidence to achieve social impact for children, families and communities in a range of health and human service areas. She has lead several national, ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the selection, and use of, evidence to in real-world service and policy settings. In addition to her Australian-based work, Robyn has built a portfolio of projects collaborating with both government and non-government agencies in countries such as Singapore, Norway, Sweden, the USA, the UK and New Zealand, and has been a keynote speaker at multiple events around the globe. Robyn is the co-chair of the Global Evidence and Implementation Summit 2018, was the founding chair of the Scientific Program Committee for the first and second Australian Implementation Conference (AIC), and co-chair for the third Biennial Australasian Implementation Conference. She is also the founding co-chair of the Knowledge Translation and Implementation Group with the Campbell Collaboration. Robyn holds an honorary Associate Professorship with the University of Melbourne.

As Lien Foundation's first professional staff in 2005, Poh Wah transformed the Foundation into a regional philanthropic house lauded for its radical approach and innovative solutions. Under his leadership, the Foundation is increasingly recognized as a first mover in driving change to improve early childhood development, eldercare and care for the dying. Often taking the bulls by the horn, the Foundation tackles niche problems from ideation to implementation. Prior to that, Poh Wah was in the civil service where he established the Social Enterprise Fund. He also held several investment and business development positions in the private sector.
