Biography
Juan D. Bonilla is a Principal Economist at the International Development, Evaluation and Research Program (IDER) at AIR. At AIR, he has been the principal investigator (PI) of several development programs in education, social protection and agricultural interventions in Africa and Latin America. Dr. Bonilla has served on the scientific committee for the Latin American and the Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) and the Brazilian Econometric Society. Before joining AIR, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil where he taught graduate courses in Development Economics and Empirical Methods in Microeconomics, including program evaluation. He holds an MA in Economics from New York University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland.
