#305 - Synthesis Methods for Moderators that Matter: Problem Definition, Intervention Design and Implementation

Abstract

Biography

Ruth Aston is an early career researcher who is interested in how the impact of interventions acting on the social determinants of health can be measured, in particularly what indicators can be proxy measures for longer term change in health and social outcomes. Currently, Ruth is conducting several evaluations of public health interventions aiming to improve youth resilience and participation in community-based projects to increase healthy lifestyle behaviours and participation in education. Ruth is also conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the relationship between intrapersonal teacher characteristics and student, parent and school outcomes. Ruth has through her research and evaluation experience, engaged with community members, education and health policy makers, teachers and school staff and families. She is very interested in cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary research and interventions that harness the relationship between education and health to address complex social problems.
