Details

Target audience: Review authors and information specialists; Beginner to advanced reviewers EPPI-Reviewer is a comprehensive online software package for systematic reviews and is available subscription-free for all Campbell authors to work on their Campbell reviews. This introductory workshop will show how EPPI-Reviewer can support all stages of the review process from bibliographic management, screening and coding right through to synthesis and generating data for evidence mapping. EPPI-Reviewer provides a flexible framework for reviews: this session will show how authors can organise their data extraction and synthesis according to user-defined criteria. The session will demonstrate EPPI-Reviewer’s integrated Machine Learning tools, showing how these can be used to speed up the study identification process and reduce manual screening workload. Many Campbell authors are now using EPPI-Reviewer so this workshop will be an opportunity to provide feedback and help direct the program’s development. The workshop will include a "future developments" section to share our plans for future developments and methodological innovations that are currently being developed along with our collaborators (Campbell, Cochrane, NICE and more). The general aim is to facilitate the emergence of an Evidence Ecosystem in which data can be discovered and reused with the aid of interoperability, data-mining and automation. We expect these developments to have a significant impact on Evidence Synthesis methodologies, facilitating in particular emerging techniques such as "living" systematic reviews, surveillance-based updating and rapid reviews.
