#343 - 12 ways of making evidence from effect evaluations more useful in practice
Biography
Ulrica von Thiele Schwarz is a Reg. Psychologist and a Professor in Psychology at the School of Health, Care and Social Welfare at Mälardalen University and the Procome research group at Medical Management Centre, Karolinska Institutet. Her research is focused on uncovering how to design, conduct and evaluate innovative improvement initiatives in organizations, and how it affects staff as well as clients/costumers/patients and the organization. The research covers a broad range of different types of initiatives and in different settings. What engages her is the opportunity to conduct research that is not only of high scientific quality but also facilitates change in practice. She is intrigued by the challenges involved in implementation; how new innovations and evidence gets from the drawing table and the scientific journals to practice, where it can be used so that patients and population actually benefits. Dr von Thiele Schwarz has authored over 70 scientific articles and book chapters in journals such as BMC Medical Research Methodology, Implementation Science and Journal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice.
