Biography
Kate is a Service Design Specialist for the Dartington Service Design Lab - an independent research and design charity focused upon improving outcomes for children and young people. Over the last decade Kate has worked across Scotland and England on: randomised controlled trials; aided the development of the Standards of Evidence; supported implementation of evidence-based programmes; helped co-ordinate place-based reform efforts; led numerous epidemiological projects to understand child need; and supported charities to help improve their impact. She is committed to developing human-centred, science-informed design approaches to ensure services are needed, wanted and likely to make a difference.

Biography
Ailsa has led the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) National Unit since 2012, scaling up FNP (an evidence based, public health home visiting programme) across much of England. She is currently taking forward a significant programme of innovation and quality improvement to increase impact, cost effectiveness and fit with local context and priorities. She joined FNP because she was impressed by the powerful impact it can have on outcomes for vulnerable families. Previously she worked in civil service policy roles, focusing on children’s issues, addressing inequalities and policy implementation. She is a Health Foundation Generation Q fellow, a member of the Sciana international health leaders network, and is interested in reducing inequalities, early intervention and quality improvement.

Biography
Aaron R. Lyon, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington (UW). He is also Director of the UW School Mental Health Assessment, Research, and Training (SMART) Center, an implementation research and technical assistance center focused on supporting the use of evidence-based prevention and intervention practices to promote mental health in the education sector. Dr. Lyon’s research emphasizes methods of increasing the accessibility, efficiency, and effectiveness of interventions for children, adolescents, and families; delivered within contexts (e.g., schools) that routinely provide care to chronically underserved populations. Dr. Lyon is currently Principal Investigator on grants from the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Justice, Institute of Education Sciences, and various local and national foundations in the United States.
