Biography
Suzanne Nielsen (BPharmSc[Hons] PhD MPS) is an Associate Professor, and Deputy Director of the Monash Addiction Research Centre in Melbourne. She is a current NHMRC Translating Research Into Practice Fellow. Her research has led to a greater understanding of how to identify and responding to prescription and over-the-counter drug-related problems. Her current research centres on understanding how to improve identification of prescribed opioid dependence in primary care and pharmacy settings, and how to facilitate provision of evidence-based opioid agonist treatment for opioid dependence.
Suzanne has been a registered pharmacist for over 20 years with clinical experience in the treatment of substance use disorders in specialist services and community-based alcohol and drug treatment settings.
