Biography
Dr Janet Sluggett is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Medicine Use and Safety, Monash University, contributing to the NHMRC Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre project to optimise quality use of medicines for people with cognitive and related functional decline. Janet’s research interests include quality use of medicines, pharmacoepidemiology, quality improvement, and cognitive decline.
As an early career pharmacy researcher embedded within an aged care organisation, Janet is passionate about improving care and innovative models of practice in aged care. She is currently leading the implementation of a novel tool in a cluster randomised controlled trial to optimise medication use across eight South Australian residential aged care facilities. Janet received the AAG SA Division 2017 Robert Penhall Early Career Research Award in recognition of her contributions to this research project and she was recently named 2017 SA/NT Pharmacist of the Year by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.
